Color!!!!   A Taste of SFFD Culinary History!

Replica Aprons from S.F.F.D. 1890s Firehouse Chefs!

Legend holds that in the 1890s, the SFFD "House Chef of the Day"Billaxe.jpg (254735 bytes) was entitled to wear the "House Apron" while he black apron.jpg (398391 bytes) prepared his daily meals for the crew.  These maroon aprons were emblazoned with the SFFD logo of the time.  One of these originals recently was found, and the logo (and apron color)  is accurately duplicated in this chef's apron!

The Maroon Apron color accurately matches the color of the 1906 SFFD Fire Apparatus, and has been represented on the 1906 - 2006 SFFD Commerative engines being deployed - right now!  I was ahead of my time!
