The SFFD Patch!

Except for the Airport Division, The SFFD doesn't have an Official patch! They do have a logo though, and it's beautiful! It's emblazoned on the sides of all apparatus. Firefighter Bob and I teamed up to get these, and I now have a GORGEOUS, 3 - 1/2" patch for your collection, for wearing - and for trading! When you show up visiting a Fire Station, NOBODY* is going to have this in their collection! London Fire Brigade SOHO 248 certainly didn't when I visited in late 2006 - but they do now!

This patch has a fully sealed backing - which is actually an iron-on adhesive (so you can sew OR iron them on almost anything). The detail is amazing! Thousands of embroidery stitches - so click on the picture for a close up view!

Another version of the replica patch is available at the SFFD Museum at Station 10 on Presidio at Pine. I don't think they have the iron-on feature, but buy some anyway if you visit. And, if you like the SFFD, a visit is worthwhile! The money they make helps support the Museum, and that's a good thing!

Hint: When ironing the patches on, be sure to get both the patch and the fabric very HOT! Invest the time ironing to let the glue melt into the fabric. Then, it holds on extremely well.

* Except for London, England Station 248 (SOHO). I got there first! They have some nice shirts of their own, so it's still worth a visit! Nice folks!
